Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup Box
acrylic and silkscreen ink on canvas
72 by 60 in.
182.9 by 152.4 cm.
Executed in 1985.

This work is stamped twice by The Estate of Andy Warhol and twice by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Inc. and numbered twice PA90.069 on the overlap. This work is also numbered PA90.069 on the stretcher.

Condition Report:
This work is in very good condition overall. There is evidence of light handling to the edges, with associated faint hairline craquelure at the pull margins, most notable in the black painted edges. The colors are bright, fresh and clean. Under close inspection, there are very faint surface scuffs visible under raking light as well as fine networks of stable hairline craquelure in the black painted areas. Under further close inspection, there is a minor 1 inch abrasion with resultant pinpoint losses in the light blue pigment (approximately 28 ½ inches above the lower edge and 11 inches from the left edge). Under Ultraviolet light inspection, scattered areas in the black pigment in the lower right corner and along the turning edges fluoresce darkly but are not the result of restoration. Unframed.

Provenance:

Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts Inc., New York
Acquired from the above in January 2005 by the present owner
