12mo (127 x 83 mm). Half-title, 16 engraved plates (including frontispiece) after J. D. Dugourc; occasional spotting, chiefly marginal. Contemporary French speckled calf, gilt Greek key border, smooth spine gilt, gilt dentelles, pink marbled endpapers, edges gilt; joints rubbed, minor loss to foot of spine.

A scarce title, listed in Toole Stott's hundred best circus books. RBH cites two copies sold in 1991 (imperfect) at Sotheby's London and another in 1912 at Anderson Galleries. Worldcat locates four copies total at the Morgan and New York Public Libraries, the Bilbiothèque nationale de France, and the Théâtrothèque Gaston Baty, Paris.
