A fascinating and seldom-offered large silver issue of Annam, representing one of the most distinctive crown-sized denominations of nineteenth-century Southeast Asia. Struck to a traditional East Asian standard, the type combines elegant Chinese inscriptions with an ornate dragon design, reflecting the rich monetary and artistic traditions of the Nguyễn Dynasty.
The coin retains considerable eye appeal despite the "Bent" remark. To this Cataloger's eyes, the coin is more rolled than an outright bend, considering the smoothness in the curves with no obvious distortion in the design.
