Date: c. 1750
Description: Multi-figure scene of the Bible from the Gospel of Matthew. Jesus Christ in the centre, surrounded by the Pharisees. In his left hand he holds the coin as a tax for the emperor: "Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's!
Verso: Fragmented copperplate engraving as a base for the drawing

Two missing parts at lower centre. Vertical box pleat in the centre. Sheet unevenly mounted and partly creased. A stripe-like rubbing in the upper right quarter. Faint rubbing and discolouration visible on the entire sheet.
