Technique: Etching on Paper

Inscription: Lower right signed in the printing plate: " "Ioh. Iac. Haid excud. Aug. Vind.", darüber bezeichnet: "La Liberté chercée en vain | Die vergeblich gesuchte Freyheit [..]"".

Date: c. 1750

Description: Allegorical depiction of a young woman in an elegant dress playing with a tethered bird. Below bilingual verse on the interplay of love and freedom.

Slight trace of liquid along the left edge of the sheet. On the lower left margin a slight crease with superficial rubbing.
