Antique 1836 Military Art - militia drilling - Hand-Lithography, Henry Prentiss, Boston

"Hero's Quick Step". Twelfth Edition, Boston. Published by Henry Prentiss No.33, Court Street.

The image on the title page is a hand-lithography [drawn on lithographic limestone] and is inscribed on stone, "Entered according to act of Congress in the year 1836 by Henry Prentiss in the Clerk's office of the District court of Massachusetts."

Two separate sheets [4 pages]: title page, two pages of sheet music, one blank 9.5/8" x 13" [ 24.4cm x 36cm], some wear, a few edge creases, very good condition.

The large image [11.1/2" x c.7.1/2" [30cm x 19.5cm] shows militia drilling on Boston Common, Old Elm in left foreground.
