An ancient and rare Cassowary egg, one of the three world’s largest and most dangerous birds living in Papua New Guinea. Perfectly preserved and adorned with characteristic handmade details, attributable to the Victorian era, probably of British production. The egg leans on three leaves with brass finish, the whole is mounted on a wooden pedestal. As well as for its age, this specimen is extremely rare also because the cassowary is an endangered animal. On Earth there are about 1500 specimens. A perfect collector’s item to embellish a Wunderkammer. Egg dimensions are 220 x 90 x 90 mm.
