Paul François Choppin French sculptor (Paris 1856 - Paris 1937) pupil of Jouffroy and Falguière exhibits at the Salon busts and statues, the one we are presenting entitled "A volunteer from 1792" reduction of a statue intended for Parmentier square in Paris is also known under the name of "Winner of the Bastille" or even "The Call to arms".
A proof is in the museum of Reims.
The patina has brown colour and statue is in good antique condition. Some restauration part of rifle. Signed: P Choppin
