Antonio Volpe - Antonio Volpe Udine chair (Thonet)
Produced around 1895 or so, it has a large back with curved armrests and a seat with a 50 cm diameter. A rare and particular model, a unique collector's item. Even if the object does has no label nor the mark that the company used to apply to the seat, the construction of the seat, the shape of the capital and the front leg give us certainty about its production and dating. The armchair is an original model but has no contemporary additions. In fact, the lower circle between the legs is definitely of a later age, as is evident from the colour that differs from the rest of the seat. Even the reinforcement arches between the seat and backrest seem to be of a later time, although both patina and colour in this area match the rest of the structure well. Size: L 54 cm, D 65 cm, H 100 cm. Seat: H 48 cm, D 50 cm. It needs no intervention, as it has just been restored and the seat straw has been replaced. Shipping on pallet.
