Arnaldo Spagnoli (1906-1989) was born in Parma. After developing musical interests as a teenager, he attended the Paolo Toschi Art Institute, graduating in scenography in 1925. In 2005, the Galleria del Teatro dedicated an exhibition to him (curated by his son Stefano) entitled Wietzendorf, the name of the Nazi concentration camp where he was a prisoner, an exhibition of watercolours that the artist created inside the camp.
