Unknown Artist (Late 19th Century) An Exceptional Kodak No. 1 Album of San Francisco's Chinatown, Opium Dens, and Mexico, circa 1890 164 albumen prints, 2-1/2 inches (6.4 cm) in diameter, mounted four to a page Bound in 1/2 leather, gilt stamped on spine "Photographs, Mexico and Southern California." Starting with street scenes of New Orleans and moving on to views of Mexico including San Luis Potosi, Acámbaro, Morelia, a bullfight in Mexico City, Santa Anita, Puebla, Maltrata, Cuautla, Guadalajara, and Guanajuato. The album ends with Santa Barbara, street scenes of Chinatown in San Francisco and interior views of a barber shop, opium joint, and a Josh (Joss)-House.
