Artista dell'Italia meridionale del XVIII secolo - Ritratto di nobildonna siciliana

[ translate ]

\Artist: Artista dell'Italia meridionale del XVIII secolo
Technique: Oil on canvas\Signature: Not signed\Dimensions: 117_6_91_cm
Towards the end of the 18th century the Sicilian aristocracy included 142 princes, 788 marquises and 1500 between dukes and barons. Our painting is an interesting historical document on how the noble ladies of that era dressed, who lived in stupendous and huge palaces that had nothing to envy to those of northern Italy or all of Europe. Our noblewoman wears those famous Bourbon jewels, today highly sought after by collectors and with one hand she holds a fan, while with the other a rose; on the table is a prayer book. The painting comes directly from the residence of an aristocratic Sicilian family, whose name cannot be mentioned for reasons of privacy and of which the lady portrayed was an ancestor. The work is restored, relined and relined, and the professional cleaning has made the original colors re-emerge while maintaining the patina of time. Measure cm. 117 x 91 including the beautiful and ancient gilded frame (the value of which must be taken into account) and cm. 100 x 73 canvas only. It has a certificate of lawful origin from my collection. ATTENTION: the packaging will be very accurate and safe, however the frame must be considered a gift and we are not liable for any damage due to transport. For shipments outside the EU, longer delivery times must be considered and the unspecified customs fees are charged to the buyer.
