Inmaculada, 18th century, Andalusian school, attributed to Pedro Duque Cornejo workshop (Seville, 1678- Córdoba 1757) Free-standing carving of the Virgin in the Immaculate Conception iconography, dressed in white with a blue cloak. This artistic work of excellent quality is chronologically located around the end of the 17th century and, more specifically to an initial period of early Baroque (early 18th century) . This can be argued by the profusion of pastel-toned floral decoration of the dress, as well as the sweet and flushed expression of the face. Also due to the refined technique that indicates the beginning of the full Baroque of the 18th-century. Size: 100 cm (high) x 40 cm (deep) x 30. 5 cm (wide) It is an extraordinary sculptural piece which comes from a private collection in Cordoba. A parallel has been established between the hand of this work and the sculptural stylist line of Pedro Duque Cornejo, renowned Baroque artist of the Andalusian-Seville school. The style of Duque Cornejo (Seville, 1678 - Cordoba, 1757) establishes a close link with the footprint of the well-known Pedro Roldán, since he was his master. His style is recognised in exacerbated Baroque style, characterised by elaborate compositions and by the great movement of bodies and clothing. It represents one of the last manifestations of the Sevillian Baroque, as well as one of the best and most evolved examples of this style. We have been antique dealers and decorators for more than 30 years and we specialise in finding the best pieces on the market. Shipping price includes packaging, labour, specialised materials to protect the objects, shipping insurance and tracking number.
