Unframed: 18.5 by 35 cm., 7 ¼ by 13 ¾in.
Framed: 22 by 39cm., 8 ½ by 15 ¼in.

Condition Report:
The canvas has been lined. There is some wear to the framing edges. There is surface dirt visible. There is some very faint craquelure, notably to the background below the sheep. Examination under UV light reveals an uneven layer of varnish.

Provenance:
Probably acquired by William, 12th Duke of Hamilton (1845–1895);
His daughter Lady Mary Louise (1884-1957), who married in 1906 James Graham (1878-1954), Marquess of Graham who in 1925 succeeded his father as 6th Duke of Montrose;
Thence by descent.
