Aztec Maize Goddess Chicomeocatl with provenance

30 cm (11 7/8") Aztec, volcanic stone, from Mexico, 1300-1521 A.D. - Includes letter from PH.D. Von Winning Describes (1971): "Chicomeocatl, or seven serpent, the Aztec goddess of corn and sustenance of a slender figure wearing a tall headdress, earflares and hair to the shoulders, large necklace and skirt above its knees, her hands hold a pair of healthy corn ears large areas of red stucco all over its body, its base shows clear ancient tool marks...I have inspected this statuette and it is an authentic Aztec artifact from the period. Includes dated letter with stamped photograph from Author and PH.D. Hasso Von Winning who was the Mesoamerican consultant at the Southwestern museum in Los Angles
