BOSTON COIN SILVER PRESENTATION GOBLET

Early 19th c. Coin Silver Silver Goblet by John Belknap Jones (Boston, MA, 1813-1834), stepped rim and base, with leaf form lappet decoration to base of body, with engraved presentation 'From Miss Julia B. Hill to Capt. Joseph Tinkham, in Memory of Thomas Hill, who died on board the Packet Florida, Sept. 5, 1830', referring to the death of her husband, Thomas Hill, senior partner of merchant house Messrs. Hill & Blodget, of Gibralter and Cadiz, while he was at sea enroute to Boston for health reasons, 6 1/2" high, 4 1/2" diam., 13.01 ozt.
