Bactrian Bronze Stamp Seal w/ Abstract Cross Motif

[ translate ]

**Originally Listed At $150**

Ancient Central Asia, Bactria, ca. 2500 to 2000 BCE. A cast-bronze stamp seal of a petite size with a pierced handle protruding off the verso. The stamp face features raised intersecting lines and stippling that form a four-sectioned design. The oblong edges suggest that this stamp was of a wider form at one time. Dark green patina has developed across the surfaces to make this an attractive example. Custom putty impression included. Size: 0.7" W (1.8 cm); 2.1" H (5.3 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: private Zaveloff collection, Lakewood, New Jersey, USA, acquired from Venus Gallery, Israel, in 2002

All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.

A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to recent increases of shipments being seized by Australian & German customs (even for items with pre-UNESCO provenance), we will no longer ship most antiquities and ancient Chinese art to Australia & Germany. For categories of items that are acceptable to ship to Australia or Germany, please contact us directly or work with your local customs brokerage firm.
