South German, c. 1750, walnut case glazed on four sides, the front decorated with finely chased brass sheet, the all-seeing eye of God in the centre, surrounded by rocailles and C motifs, sheet iron clock ring with etched Roman numerals, central cut-out for mock pendulum, brass plate movement with three windings, striking mechanism completely removed, walking movement with verge escapement running, h 50 cm.
