Batoni, Pompeo Girolamo - attributed to: : Archduke Joseph II Austria. (Lucca 1708-1787 Rome) The present portrait is a depiction of the young Archduke Joseph (1741-1790), the first son of Emperor Francis I Stephen and Maria Theresa; the bust portrait shows the heir to the throne in front of a neutral background with a plaited wig and red uniform with rich gold embroidery; from the right shoulder to the left hip runs a red ribbon, on the left side he wears the Order of the Golden Fleece, which was awarded to him in the year of his birth. Oesterreich : (Lucca 1708-1787 Rom) Bei dem vorliegenden Bildnis handelt es sich um eine Darstellung des jungen Erzherzogs Joseph (1741-1790), des ersten Sohns von Kaiser Franz I. Stephan und Maria Theresia; das Brustbildnis zeigt den Thronfolger vor neutralem Hintergrund mit einer Zopfperuecke und roter Uniform mit reicher Goldstickerei; von der rechten Schulter zur linken Huefte verlaeuft ein rotes Band, auf der linken Seite traegt er den Orden vom Goldenen Vlies, der ihm in seinem Geburtsjahr verliehen wurde.
