Complete set of both volumes of the First Edition in scarce red-gold gift binding.

Early Printing of the First Edition in Publisher's Original Expensive Gift Binding. Only a very limited amount of copies was bound "by the special order" in such binding.

"Uncle Tom's Cabin, or Life Among the Lowly", by Harriet Beecher Stowe, published by John P. Jewett, 1852, set by Hobart & Robbins, printed by Geo. C. Rand, First Edition.

Both volumes are from the early June printing: 75th and 80th thousand.

Perhaps the most influential work of American literature and a cornerstone of 19th century literature.

An important work whose life began in the limited circulation periodical 'Washington National Era' weekly. Over the next ten months as reader after reader continued to pass their copies on to others it quickly became a national sensation.
