pair of duelling pistols (smooth barrel) or officer’s pistols from the Louis Philippe period, with accessories: bullet mould, gunpowder pear, box of primers. The weapons are solid, with locks in a shape directly inherited/inspired by the flintlocks of the Empire, the barrels are made of twisted damask steel, slightly flared at the muzzle, in the fashion of the time. The trigger guards have very slightly different decorations from one pistol to another, which makes it possible to recognize them (the other method to differentiate two pistols in a pair was to number them 1 and 2) . These weapons are patinated and can regain an almost new appearance after cleaning/polishing. They show traces of damage repaired long ago by gunsmiths, and the butt of one of the pistols bears traces of wormholes, now stabilised. Everything works perfectly. These weapons were put into storage when the metal cartridge weapons appeared. They were forgotten for many decades and have reached us as they are, with their accessories.
