Napoleon III officer’s pistol The steel parts are white, except for the barrel, which is damasked. All the engravings are of exceptional freshness, they are just as they were when they came from the engraver. The steel parts are in mint condition, without corrosion, perfect fittings, and the wood of the butt has retained 90% of its original varnish. The weapon’s exterior is so beautiful that it could be taken for a modern replica, if it were not for the 19th century Liege hallmark on one side of the barrel. The smooth barrel has a large diameter, to fit the regulatory ammunition of the time. The weapon’s main spring was previously damaged, which is probably why it was never used. The spring has been refurbished, but if you want to use this weapon for shooting, you will probably need to tighten it, it seems a little weak; on the other hand, as a collector’s item, everything can remain as is, and everything works perfectly well. A period weapon. . . mint condition!
