Hand-knotted carpet from around the Kurdish village of Bidjar in western Iran. It has a very dense, strong and compact appearance. Knotted with 100% wool. It has about 60,000 knots per square metre. The geometry of these rugs, whether they be medallion or herringbone, differentiates them significantly from the rugs made in the rest of the region. They are made with a Persian knot on the warp and double woof made of cotton with wool native to the region. Exported from Iran before 2015.
