Bowl (3) - Ceramic - Thailand - Sukhothai - 14th / 16th c. - Sawankhalok
In very good condition! 3 bowls with lids from Sawankhalok, in the north of the Sukhothai Kingdom, 14th-16th century. These ceramics from the pottery kilns of Sawankhalok are globular in shape. Two of the lids have a stem, borders and bellies decorated with foliage, typical of this era. After the decline of Khmer ceramics in the 13th century, the kilns of Sukhothai kept running, especially during the 15th century, when China suffered a significant crisis, giving Sukhothai ceramics the opportunity to conquer export markets throughout almost all of Asia. Goods from Sukhothai have been found in Indonesia, the Philippines, India and China, among other countries. Significant collections have been found in sunken ships around the Gulf of Thailand, still in good condition, even after spending centuries under water. In the mid-16th century, Sukhothai production was interrupted, possibly because of the wars between the Kingdom of Ayutthaya and the Burmese. In addition, the resurgence of Chinese ceramics occurred at that same moment. In very good condition! Some gaps or small chips. Kanaka collection. Certificate of authenticity included. 12 cm x 13 cm x 13 cm 9 cm x 12. 5 cm x 12. 5 cm 8 cm x 10. 8 cm x 10,8 cm
