Boxed 1874 Orvis Fly Reel

With a screw off handle, this 2nd version Orvis reel fits snugly in the original walnut box with original clasp. The 2 7/8" diameter reel has light to moderate nickel plated finish wear, and works without issue, and features a crisp sounding click, housed under the nickel plated tail plate cap that reads "CF Orvis Maker - patented may 12th, 1874 - Manchester, VT". An original Orvis fly reel should be a staple in every early fly reel collection.
