The canvas is relined on a modern stretcher and with a modern frame. Some losses to the edges of the canvas visible on the reverse. Examined under UV light: small areas of inpainting in the sitter's cheek and proper right bare foot and some overpainting in the curtains surrounding the cat. Stretcher abrasion along the top edge.
