This timepiece is a tribute to one of the greatest inventions of A. L. Breguet: the shock proof system first patented in 1791 and called Parachute by the Maestro. This is the latest version, just introduced, which features not just the Parachute, made exactly like those patented by Abraham Louis, but also a winding rotor, visible through the sapphire crystal window on the case back, in the shape of a shield. Another reason to remember that Breguet created the first automatic timepiece in history and called it the Perpetual; his early pocket watches featured this crescent that at the time could only swing by 180 degrees. Set alongside the exhibition movement is the crescent shaped retrograde calendar at 6 o'clock.
