Brenham Meteorite Pallasite, PMG-an Kansas, USA - (37° 34' 57"N, 99° 9' 49"W) Found: 1882 Often referred to as the "best of both worlds," not only for its extraterrestrial origin but also its dual type of composition, this Pallasite, known as Brenham, is a stony-iron meteorite. From a rather famous Kansas locality and first found in 1882, the fall is associated with the Haviland (Brenham) Crater, which is one of the smallest known impact craters in the world. Representing the anomalous PNG classification, this tiny rocky mass weighing only 40.8 grams shows evidence of secondary conglomerate composition as one of the primary faces exhibits contrasting dark material and large crystals with the specimen. The exterior has a classic granular look with orange-brown coloration and rugged texture. This is a very collectible and different Pallasite. Measurements: 1.59 x 1.25 x 0.79 inches (4.04 x 3.18 x 2.00 cm), weighs 40.8 grams HID09710052018 © 2022 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
