Robert Knox (1791-1862), was a popular teacher who ran his own anatomy school at 10 Surgeons Square, Edinburgh. He was forced to resign when it was discovered that he had purchased bodies from the murderers Burke and Hare. William Strang, surgeon, is listed as living at 11 Hill Place, Edinburgh.
