Title: Bronze of Hunting Dog & Pheasant PAUL EDOUARD DELABRIERRE, FRENCH (1829-1912

Delestue also worked as a sculptor and may well have been influential in steering Delabrierre towards concentrating on sculpture. Delabrierre made his debut at the Salon in 1848 and continued to exhibit works until 1882. He modeled a wide array of animals and many of his works depict more than a single animal. He was a great admirer of Antoine Louis Barye's work. His works in contrast to Barye's studies of animals have a more gentle sentimental feel to them.
