Bugatti Type 52 Replica Children's Car

This wonderful Bugatti Type 52 replica wears a patina and history that few children’s cars can claim. Rob Walker was fascinated by all things automotive and that extended to a deep appreciation of what we would now call "historic" or "classic" cars.
Ettore Bugatti arguably produced the most famous run of children’s cars with the Type 52, an official model of the marque, essentially a scaled down Grand Prix Bugatti powered by an electric motor. One of these hugely collectable Type 52s was owned by Rob until a garage fire in early 1968 caused by an errant welding spark resulted in total loss of his Type 52 and other cars.
As a replacement, Walker commissioned famed dealer and racing driver Colin Crabbe of Antique Automobiles Ltd. to produce one of his replicas. This charming example has been retained by Walker family since its purchase new. Offered at a fraction of the price of an original Type 52 and other replicas, this example would make a wonderful addition to any young Bugatti enthusiast’s garage.
