Byzantine Bronze double-sided reliquary cross pendant - Enkolpion - (1)

A Byzantine silver enkolpion reliquary pendant with hinged suspension loop. A low-relief Corpus Christi to one face and Virgin Mary figure in orans posture to the reverse. Such crosses would have held secondary relics in them to offer protection to the wearer. Size 82,6 x 30,9 x 6,9 mm Condition: good and solid condition, complete with suspension loop (rigid) , signs of wear consistent with age and use. See images for own impression.
