(C) FINE COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .38-40 REVOLVER

A fine, all original, 1st Generation Colt Single Action Army in the popular .38 WCF cartridge with the standard blued and case colored finish, and Colt pony black gutta percha grips. Six shot, fluted cylinder. Barrel has the proper single barrel address. CONDITION: Obviously used but well cared for. Retains approximately 75% original factory blue, as does ejector housing; blending to a smooth, soft patina and some gun metal grey at muzzle. Cylinder retains approximately 85% original blue with light drag line and overall high edge wear. Straps are basically grey patina with flashes of blue on top of trigger guard and backstrap. Frame still retains some color in the protected areas with the balance simply patterned out. Trace of colors on hammer. Screws are true and still retain the majority of their blue finish. Excellent grips. Still retains all four Colt clicks. Indexes and locks up correctly with a fine, smooth action. Retains a clean, bright bore with sharp lands and grooves. This Colt is accompanied by a factory letter that confirms all features and that is was shipped March 23rd, 1917 to Wyeth Hardware Manufacturing Co, St. Joseph, Missouri in a two gun shipment. Simply a nice, clean, World War I era Single Action.
