CARTIER - a mid 20th century 18ct gold diamond, enamel and seed pearl blackamoor brooch. The black enamel bust, with grooved neck cuff, seed pearl earrings and rose-cut diamond and coral accent grooved turban. Signed Cartier, 9314. French assay marks. Length 3.6cms. Weight 10.8gms. With fitted maker's case. Coral untested. Purchasing information Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Black enamel decoration appears to have been re-done, slight peeling and residue visible to seed pearls. Diamonds well matched. Individual cut, size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate weight, colour and clarity assessment.
Coral untested for natural colour origin. Coral in good condition with minor abrasions. Stamped 'DEPOSE' and 'MADE IN FRANCE'. Maker's case in fair condition with surface scratches and noticeable wear to edges. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers for coloured gemstones.
