CASED ENGLISH ROUND BODY SCREW BARRELS BY MOLE

SERIAL NUMBER N/A BARREL 2-1/2" CALIBER 48 PERCUSSION MANUFACTURED CIRCA 1850. Wonderful pair of percussion Muffs by Hole of Bristol England cased in their red leather clamshell case with bag flask. Brass roundbody percussion action with spring activated folding triggers and steel screw barrels . Sliding safeties with cap blocking safeties. Mounted with finely checkered bag grip stocks with oval escutcheons. Receivers are engraved in foliate scroll with scalloped engraved muzzles. Hammers are engraved to match. Marked "-HOLE-" on left sides and "BRISTOL" on left side. Case is done in the English clamshell pattern with red leather and gold borders. Interior is French fitted in Green leather with gold trim with makers name on interior of lid. CONDITION, Very fine with actions working properly. Markings and legends are crisp. Brass has toned to a mellow mustard patina. Case is very fine with slight shrinkage but is very fine. ANTIQUE
