Diameter: 39.16mm. Weight: 21.70 gms. cf. Li-pgs. 22-23. Plain edge. Single large character "獎" in center with legend around "窮孫吳略 成頗牧才 為國宣力 庶策勳於麟臺"; Reverse: Five character inscription, "兩廣總督張" with quasi-Greek border around. Awarded by Zhang Renjun during his tenure (August 12, 1907 to June 28, 1909) as Viceroy of Liangguang (Kwangtung and Kwangsi Provinces). A VERY RARE Medal from the closing era of the Qing Dynasty, offering good details, a slate gray tone, and charming appeal, despite some noted edge damage. A type we have only ever offered once, and as such, we expect many excited bids for, despite the noted rim damage.
