COLLECTION OF TEN LATE/POST MEDIEVAL CROSSES

C. 1200 - 1800 AD. Medieval and post-Medieval. A beautiful collection of 10 cross pendants including bronze and iron examples, all of which are cast, most have raised decoration. This lot includes a particularly large cross with 4 wide arms, and four smaller arms forming an eight-pointed star, and stamped decoration. Crosses are the principal symbol of the Christian religion, recalling the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ and the redeeming benefits of his Passion and death. The cross is thus a sign both of Christ himself and of the faith of Christians. Good condition.
