Dark green leather, gilt filets to boards and spine, spine panels gilt with sporting motifs, top edge gilt. 8 x 5 inches. iv, [2], 592 pp.; frontispiece and plates comprising hand-colored and black-and-white engravings and aquatints by Cruikshank and Alken, among others, and in-text illustrations. Light wear to binding, dark green toned to chestnut on the spine, rebacked; endpapers reinforced, small paper restoration to lower corner of title-page, contents with the occasional pale spot; MILLS, JOHN. The Flyers of the Hunt. London: "The Field" Office... and Ward and Lock, 1859. First edition, presentation copy inscribed by the author to O. Mathews, Esq. Original blue pebbled cloth, gilt and blindstamped, all edges gilt, bookseller's label of Burn, 37 & 38 Kirby Street. 7 1/4 x 4 3/4 inches. [10], 115, [1] pp.; six hand-colored etched plates after John Leech. Rubbing, corners and upper board edges bumped, spine ends softened, engraved bookplate of the Dukes of Gloucester with the order of the garter motto, 'Honi Soit qui Mal Y Pense,' surmounted by a crown; DRAGON (pseudonym). Tales for Sportsmen. London: Simpkin, Marshall, & Co., 1885. First edition. Half blue calf, blue pebbled cloth over boards, gilt spine, all edges gilt. Lithographed plates, in-text illustrations. Rubbing and wear to binding extremities, first and last few leaves spotted, bookplate of H. Herbert Andrew; SEYMOUR, ROBERT. Seymour's Humourous Sketches. London: Frederick Bentley, [circa 1880]. Original brown cloth, pictorially stamped in gilt and in black, beveled boards. "Ninety-seven caricature etchings." Light rubbing to extremities, cloth chipping at head of spine, contents occasionally spotted.
