COLT DETECTIVE .38 SPECIAL REVOLVER (1967)

Serial number 928080. This gun was made the first year that they shortened the frame so the grips wrap around the bottom. The finish is typical Colt blue with a six shot fluted cylinder, 2" barrel and silver medallion checkered walnut grips. The Detective model had been in production since 1927 and has probably been seen in more motion pictures than any other handgun besides the Single Action Army. This example saw very little use. There is a hint of high edge wear and a couple of minor age spots and freckles, the hammer has oxidized but still retains 99% original factory blue with near mint grips, a sharp bore and perfect action. Right grip has matching serial number in pencil. This is still the old style that does not have the ejector shroud. Comes in a brown two piece proper era box that does not have any end label or serial number to match gun.*(C&R)
