Tawdry tales of love gone wrong. EC's Code-dodging Picto-Fiction format allowed the freedom to depict scenarios too sordid for even the raunchiest pre-Code comics. In one story, a hooligan molests a teen girl, ripping her blouse and exposing her brassiered bosom ("One of them grabbed me and was suddenly kissing me. I felt his hands all over me. In a moment my dress was torn"); in another, a women gets pregnant out of wedlock and gets a botched back-alley abortion, leaving her sterile.
