Two section restored and fully functional Japanese cabinet (Yonezawa tansu) from the Shonai region. Dark red lacquered clothing cabinet with extraordinary and elaborate hardware, large lockplates and petal-shaped iron handles. The lockplates are decorated with chrysanthemum flowers. The cabinet has 7 drawers in different sizes; 5 spacious drawers and behind the revolving door 2 extra drawers. With four "carry-on" handles on each side of the upper and lower part for easy transport and “locking” the upper section to the lower part. The cabinet is signed at the back dated 9-12-1917. Also on the side panel of the upper section there is something written. See pictures. There are no keys with this cabinet. Meiji period. Size H. : 121,5 cm W. : 116 cm. D. : 45,5 cm When shipped we will add a certificate of authenticity.
