Captain America Comics #2 (Timely, 1941) CGC VF- 7.5 Cream to off-white pages. The second appearance of Captain America, as well as the first appearances of his prototypical costume design and iconic round shield. The Hitler cover (considered a classic, and printed several months before the US actually declared war on Germany) is by Joe Simon, with the accompanying story and interior art by Simon and Jack Kirby. As Simon once noted, this made Cap the first comic book superhero to take a stance on the war, which put him well ahead of the pack of patriotic heroes that were soon to follow. Tuk and Hurricane backup stories are also featured, as well as art by Al Avison, Al Gabrielle, and Reed Crandall. This is a beautiful copy of a rare issue, with stunning cover colors.
