Carl Dornberger (1864-1940) was a German-American painter known for his Impressionist and Tonalist style. He was born in Stuttgart, Germany and studied art in Munich before immigrating to the United States in 1888. Dornberger's paintings often depicted landscapes, seascapes, and rural scenes. He was a member of the Society of American Artists and the National Academy of Design. Dornberger's work was highly regarded for his use of light and color to create atmospheric effects. He was known for his ability to capture the essence of the American landscape, and his paintings were highly sought after by collectors. He died in New York City in 1940.
