Carlo Crivelli, da (XIX) - Madonna con Bambino

[ translate ]

\Artist: Carlo Crivelli, da (XIX)
Technique: Oil on board\Signature: Not signed\Dimensions: 87. 5_3_58. 3_cm
The Madonna and Child presented here, painted in oil on wood measuring 87. 5 x 58. 3 cm, is taken from the famous altarpiece of Sant'Emidio in Ascoli Piceno. The Virgin is seated, as usual a finely embroidered cloth, in this case of gold on a red base, hangs along the back, highlighting the central group of the Madonna and child. She is pictured in an elegant pose opposite her son: one leans to the left, the other to the right. Its physiognomy is tapered, starting from the long neck, the straight nose, the very thin and elegantly posed fingers while pulling the baby's bandage. The dress is very rich, embroidered in gold, with embossed decorations, ribbons and veils, now transparent, now with fringes. The panel is made with care, without schematism, with strong lighting that abstracts the forms, making them appear sculptural and locked in a vacuum, devoid of atmosphere. Soft is the incarnation of the Child, who holds a large apple in his hands, an allusion to the original sin that he will wash with his future sacrifice. On the step there is the artist's signature and the date. The 18th century work is well preserved and presents the drawing as well as the typical Crivelli palette: the table is well preserved; tiny and very limited restorations emerge from the Wood lamp; during the checks with solvents, it was found to be authentic in all its parts. The painting is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and lawful origin from our gallery with photos as required by law. Shipping is safe and traceable.
