An impressive trio of carved wood altar cards covered with real silver leaf It is an Empire Period artefact from Lombardy or Emilia, from the early 19th century. The frame is richly carved in high relief; the wooden plate in the centre housed the ritual prayers, today unfortunately missing. For its dimensions, quality and state of preservation, the artefact is hard to find on the antiques market. The overall solid and well-preserved structure shows cracks, oxidation and signs of wear. No missing or restored parts, only traces of old maintenance with glue and shellac. The two small altar card measure 34x25 cm. Shipping with professional packaging.
