The craftsman's family has been carving for generations, as this skill is traditionally passed down fromfather to son.This could be seen as a type of scrimshaw. Scrimshaw is the name given to engravings, and carvings are done in bone or ivory.THE STORYAt the heart of Chinese mythology are four spiritual creatures (in Chinese - Sì Shòu, in Japanese - Shishin).
