3rd century BC-3rd century AD. A ceramic figure modelled in the round as a standing saddled horse with mounted rider, the horse with pricked ears, short tail and applied harness, the rider with a conical hat and tunic fastened at the waist; possibly after a bronze prototype. 740 grams, 26cm (10 1/4"). Property of a London gentleman; previously acquired on the German art market in 1973.
