Chinese Archaic Copper Axe

East Asia, China, Archaic period, ca. 8th to 3rd century BCE. A cast-copper axe head of a rectangular form with a tall blade, a sharpened edge, and a pair of laterally protruding socketing slots. The interior displays traces of an original central panel, and lovely patina envelops the entire weapon. Size: 2.125" W x 4.3" H (5.4 cm x 10.9 cm).
