Chinese Blanc de Chine Guanyin Statue, 19th Century
A Chinese blanc de chine Guanyin statuette dating from the early 19th century. The statuette, which features 2 seals on the reverse, depicts a Guanyin holding a ruyi wand and standing upon lotuses and waves. It is accompanied by a hardwood stand.
Dimensions are: 9 1/2 inches tall X 3 1/2 inches wide, 23.1 cm tall X 8.6 cm wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: It is in good condition with minor firing cracks to the interior.
Provenance: From the estate of Mr. Kwok Woon Kun, formerly a shareholder of Wing On Company, a well-known department store group in Hong Kong and Shanghai. This collection was collected in Hong Kong prior to Mr. Kwok's death in 1969. His collection was shipped to Canada in 1981 and was inherited by Mr. Kwok' s daughter and grandson. Lot 229-285 from our auction on Sept 6th, 2019 were from the same estate.
