Chinese Blue Ground Dragon Robe, 19th Century
A Chinese blue ground dragon robe with gold thread and dating from the 19th century. The robe features 8 dragons, 1 secret dragon panel, 4 phoenix, bats, a wave and rock motif and other auspicious symbols.
Dimensions: 55 inches tall X 90 1/2 inches wide; 139.7 cm tall X 229.9 cm wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Overall good condition with minor pulling to the thread.
Provenance: From Dr. Pung Cheng, a professor emeritus at SUNY Stony Brook. These items were collected by his grandfather who brought them from Shanghai in 1949.
